Ghostkid is een band opgericht door niemand minder dan Sebastian “Sushi” Biesler, ex-zanger van Electric Callboy. Met invloeden van Fever333, Marilyn Manson en Bring Me The Horizon weet deze band je mee te sleuren in een album vol emotionele teksten, agressieve screams en vette instrumentale drops met hier en daar nog wat techno invloeden.

Het album begint heel stevig met het nummer Black Cloud, Ghostkid vliegt er meteen in en sleurt de luisteraar mee in hun hoge screams en melodische teksten. Ideale sfeer om live te kunnen meezingen, maar evengoed de pit in te vliegen bij de zwaardere drops. In de loop van het album heb je momenten om tot rust te komen zoals bij de intro van Ugly ,Helena Drive of S3x. Dahlia is ook een zeer mooi afwisselend nummer met de nodige emotionele teksten en heavy screams. De instrumentale intro’s bij sommige nummers klinken ook gewoon al supervet en je voelt gewoon dat de hel los gaat breken.

Murder is het enige nummer In heel het album in samenwerking met een andere band en dat is met niemand minder dan onze eigen Belgische band Inhuman! Het is niet de eerste keer dat deze 2 bands elkaar opzoeken en voor de mensen die hun ander nummer Deathlist kennen zullen dan ook niet verbaasd zijn dat ze na zo’n succes elkaar weer hebben opgezocht. Met hun title track Hollywood Suicide halverwege het album geven ze in mijn ogen perfect weer waar Ghostkid voor staat en wat ze willen tonen met hun nieuwe album.

Ik kijk er alvast heel erg naar uit om deze muzikale rit live te beleven, wat trouwens perfect kan op 5 april want dan komen ze als voorprogramma voor Blind Channel naar Zappa in Antwerpen. Allen daarheen dus!

Ghostkid is a band founded by none other than Sebastian "Sushi" Biesler, former vocalist of Eskimo Callboy. With influences from Fever333, Marilyn Manson, and Bring Me The Horizon, this band manages to drag you into an album full of emotional lyrics, aggressive screams, and heavy instrumental drops, with occasional techno influences.

The album kicks off strongly with the track Black Cloud, as Ghostkid immediately dives in, pulling the listener along with their high screams and melodic lyrics. It creates an ideal atmosphere for singing along live, yet equally invites you to mosh to the heavier drops. Throughout the album, there are moments of respite, such as the intros of Ugly' Helena Drive, or S3x. Dahlia is also a beautifully varied track with the necessary emotional lyrics and heavy screams. Some of the instrumental intros to certain tracks sound incredibly cool, setting the stage for the chaos about to unfold.

Murder is the only track on the entire album featuring collaboration with another band, and that band happens to be none other than our own Belgian band Inhuman! It's not the first time these two bands have teamed up, and for those familiar with their other track Deathlist, it's no surprise they've come together again after such success. With their title track Hollywood Suicide midway through the album, they perfectly encapsulate what Ghostkid stands for and what they aim to showcase with their new album.

I'm eagerly looking forward to experiencing this musical journey live, which can be done perfectly on April 5th, as they'll be performing as the opening act for Blind Channel at Zappa in Antwerp. So, everyone, be there!
