De Finse gothic metalband The 69 Eyes zijn in april 2016 weer terug met hun elfde album, genaamd ‘Universal Monsters’. Het album is geproduceerd door Johnny Lee Michaels.
Vill Juurikkala heeft de artwork voor zijn rekening genomen. Zanger Jyrki van The 69 Eyes heeft maar één ding te vermelden over hun artwork: "The covers are planned and designed as an oldschool CD covers. Remember when the booklets used to be as exciting as the album itself? It will actually have five different covers being such a folder – each member of the band can be used as a cover creature of their own. Ville has really succeeded in capturing the classic movie vibe for the shots without any specal make-up or photo shopping."
De nummers op het album hebben een duistere 80’s sfeer in combinatie met klassieke en melodische ondertonen. Het album is een opvolger van het in 2002 geproduceerde album ‘Paris Kills’. Daarnaast zijn de catchy strofes en ritmische refreinen weer terug te vinden in het nieuwe album The 69 Eyes. Een typisch rock ‘n’ roll album in hun gothic stijl, that’s how we like it!
