De nieuwe plaat van het Zweedse Junkstars ligt ondertussen in de winkelrekken en kreeg de naam 'This Means War' mee. Dit nieuwe album is ondertussen al het derde album van de band. Eerder verschenen 'With A Twist Of Lemon' (2012) gevolgd door het album 'French Hot Dog' (2013). Even een korte voorstelling van de band: Junkstars werd opgericht in april 2012. Deze driekoppige punkrock / rock 'n roll band is afkomstig uit Stockholm. De band bestaat uit Max (gitaar en zang), Bronxen (bas en zang) en Matte (drummer). De band was reeds met Crucified Barbara, Supercharger en Backyard Babies op tournee.

Dit nieuw album overtuigd minder dan hun vorige plaat 'French Hot Dog'. De energie van hun vorige plaat is een beetje verloren gegaan en persoonlijke hoogtepunten zijn er niet. De plaat is eerder een constante zonder echt hoogte- of dieptepunten. Oorzaak is misschien dat de cd op enkele dagen in elkaar gestoken is....

"We recorded the album live in 5 days with only vocals, one guitar, bass and drums. We wanted to write and make an album that we really liked our selves and we wanted to portray who we are, what we do and how we live. So the whole album is just made on feeling; right here, right now. No polished shit. Band-wise , we believe that we are moving more and more to our roots and what we liked as kids and what we really want to play on stage. Influences like Rancid, Distillers ,The Clash and the Ramones. The lyrics are about getting rid of the old and bad and of whats to come and of what we have in this world. Music, people, war and how we live and take care of each other; that's what its all about. If you don´t take care of what you have and what we have together like the earth, the snakes will come and give you a snakebite. Then it´s over."
